Amy Winehouse (born 13 September 1984 in Enfield, London, United Kingdom) is a jazz singer. Her debut album, Frank, was launched in 2003 and entered the upper levels of the UK album chart within 2004 when it was nominated for Brit Awards in the categories of "British Female Solo Artist" and "British Urban Act". Late around 2004 a album made the short-names for the Mercury Music Prize.

Her voice may be described as a mix of Shirley Bassey and Billie Holiday.

She is Jewish.
